Learn moreWhich service is right for my child?
The honest answer depends less on your child's age than on the shape of your working week. Here is the usual mapping.
| Age | Best fit | Typical pattern |
|---|---|---|
| 9 months - 2 years | Day nursery (baby room) or childminding | Full or part days, term-time or all year |
| 2 - 3 years | Day nursery (toddler room) | Often the first funded hours claim |
| 3 - 4 years | Day nursery (pre-school room) | Up to 30 funded hours for working parents |
| 4 - 11 years | Breakfast club, after-school club, holiday club | Wraparound cover around the school day |
| Any age | Nanny, babysitting, SEND support | In your own home, flexible or one-off |

How we look after children
The Early Years Foundation Stage sets the framework. What happens inside it is the part that matters.
A key person for every child
Every child is assigned a named practitioner who knows their routines, their comfort object, how they like to be settled and what makes them laugh. That relationship is the foundation everything else is built on.
Learning through play, properly planned
We follow the EYFS across all seven areas of learning, but planning starts from what your child is currently interested in, not from a fixed curriculum imposed on the room.
Outdoors every day
Weather appropriate, not weather permitting. Physical development and the simple ability to be outside are not optional extras in a London childhood.
Settling in at your child's pace
A staged settling-in process across several short visits, extended for as long as your child needs. We have never charged for settling sessions and never will.
Daily updates that say something
What they ate, how they slept, who they played with, what they got stuck on. Written by the person who was actually with them.
Safeguarding taken seriously
A designated safeguarding lead on site at all times, annual whole-team training, and a clear, published procedure. Read it before you enrol.
Child care across London
Local teams and named coordinators in eight boroughs, with wider Greater London coverage for home-based services.
